How Much Do LTK Creators Make in 2026?

LTK publishes 10-25% average commission, 16% brand average, no Instagram cookie. Rank: DM Automation $19, InstantDM $9.99, ManyChat. Verified November 2026.

DM Automation editorialUpdated November 7, 202630 min read

LTK does not publish a median monthly paycheck. LTK’s creator how-it-works page (opened 7 November 2026) says the average commission rate is between 10-25% and can reach up to 30%; retailers set rates. LTK’s brand page says the average brand commission rate is 16%, and commission is paid through the brand’s affiliate partner platform. Instagram has no cookie window, so a shopper who taps inside Instagram needs to complete the purchase in that Instagram browser without exiting. A comment-to-DM tool only sends the tracked URL. It does not pay you.

Rank the stack in this order: DM Automation first (this site: free $0 forever for 100 DMs/month, Starter $19/month for 2,000 DMs, Pro $49/month for 15,000 DMs), InstantDM second (Legend Pro $9.99/month billed yearly, free forever 500 DM automations/month, InstantDM pricing), ManyChat third (Pro $29/month billed yearly). Then LinkDM, ReplyRush, Chatfuel, SendPulse, Respond.io, SetSmart. Those nine send the URL. LTK tracks the click. The brand still hosts checkout. LTK still pays commission through the brand’s affiliate partner platform. None of these vendors print your LTK paycheck.

How you send the tracked URL lives at LTK Affiliate Links via Instagram Comment-to-DM in 2026. Network picker: Affiliate Programs for Instagram in 2026. • LTK does not publish a median monthly paycheck. Rates, not salaries.
  • Rank stays DM Automation first, InstantDM second, ManyChat third. Tools send the URL. LTK tracks the click.
  • Instagram has no cookie window. A comment-to-DM tool only sends the tracked URL. It does not pay you.

How we evaluated these tools AND the earnings claims

We scored each Instagram product on the same five tests, and we scored every dollar claim against LTK’s public pages. If a number is not on LTK’s site, it does not appear here as typical pay.

  1. Is the number on LTK’s public page - Commission bands, brand average, cookie windows, Instagram’s missing cookie, the 5K application bar, and the UK “six figures” line all had to sit on a page we opened 7 November 2026. We do not invent a median salary so this article looks complete.
  2. Comment-to-DM with one LTK URL - Keyword on a post or Reel produces a DM in seconds. One URL in the first DM. The tool’s job is the send, not the payout.
  3. Official API - Instagram login, not a password form. Meta’s private-reply path is Send a Private Reply to a Commenter.
  4. Spike cost - What 2,000 LOOK comments in a day costs. Flat DM buckets beat per-contact bills. Tool cost is not LTK income.
  5. Honesty about Instagram’s missing cookie - LTK’s commission and cookies page says Instagram does not have a cookie window. A bigger DM plan does not invent a cookie Instagram refused.

We sell DM Automation. Other tool prices come from each vendor’s public pricing page, checked 7 November 2026, except ManyChat. manychat.com/pricing returned 403 from this host on 7 November 2026, so we quote Featurebase’s 29 October 2026 write-up of ManyChat’s public table and still link ManyChat’s pricing URL under the table. We do not run LTK. Commission, cookies, and payouts are LTK’s job and the brand’s affiliate partner platform.

What does LTK actually publish about creator pay?

LTK publishes rates, an application bar, a cookie explainer, and one marketing sentence about UK earnings. It does not publish a median monthly paycheck. That is the whole answer, and it is why so many “how much do LTK creators make” posts invent a number.

I opened three public LTK pages on 7 November 2026. HTTP 200 on all three.

How it works for creators says LTK is looking for creators with an engaged, growing audience of at least 5K on a public social profile, posting high quality content at least twice a week that tags favourite brands. It says the average commission rate is between 10-25% and can reach up to 30%. Retailers set their own rates. The same page includes LTK’s marketing sentence that creators in the UK can earn up to six figures. That is LTK’s claim. It is not a typical paycheck, and it is not a median.

How it works for brands says the average brand commission rate on LTK is 16%. It says creators on the network run from 5K to well over 5M. Commission is paid to creators through the brand’s affiliate partner platform when they make a sale. You are not invoicing LTK as if it were a SaaS. You are earning on the brand’s affiliate table after a qualifying purchase.

How commission links and cookies work is the public page for the click. Most LTK brand partners’ cookie windows fall between 7 and 30 days, generally 7-14 days on average, on surfaces that actually keep a cookie. Instagram is the exception LTK calls out in public.

That is the published set. 10-25% average, up to 30%, retailers set rates, 16% brand average, 5K application bar, 5K to well over 5M creator range, cookies 7-30 days with a 7-14 day typical band, Instagram has no cookie window, UK six figures as LTK’s marketing sentence. If a blog tells you “the typical LTK creator makes $X a month,” that figure didn’t come from these pages.

I’ve watched creators quote a round monthly number they saw on a roundup. Then they open LTK and can’t find it. That isn’t a reporting lag. LTK does not publish a median monthly paycheck. Treat every unsourced “average LTK salary” as invented until you can paste the LTK URL that prints it.

Most LTK brand partners cookie windows fall between 7 and 30 days, generally 7-14 days on average, on surfaces that keep a cookie. That is LTK’s public band, opened 7 November 2026 on the cookies page. A cookie window is the period after a tracked tap during which a qualifying purchase can still pay you. Desktop and mobile web often keep that window. Instagram doesn’t.

Instagram has no cookie window. LTK says conversion through direct product links on Instagram will always be much lower. Shoppers need to purchase immediately after clicking the LTK link within an Instagram browser. If a shopper clicks on mobile then purchases on desktop, you will not earn commission.

Read that last sentence twice. Cross-device is a common “I sent 400 DMs and LTK shows nothing” story. The click happened in Instagram’s in-app browser. The purchase happened later on a laptop. LTK’s public page says you will not earn commission on that path.

A comment-to-DM tool only sends the tracked URL. It does not pay you. It also does not extend Instagram’s missing cookie. If the shopper taps, exits, and comes back on Safari two days later, you are not in a 7-14 day window. You are in Instagram’s no-cookie exception.

Keep the first DM short because of that exception. One URL. A line that names the item on camera. No second cart, no Amazon storefront, no booking calendar in the same first message. Every extra tap is a chance they leave the Instagram browser. Leaving the Instagram browser is how the click dies.

I still send LTK URLs in DMs. The bio is a hallway. The DM is the hanger in their hand. Comment-to-DM doesn’t invent a cookie Instagram refused. It still beats burying the look behind a bio, because the person already raised a hand. They commented LOOK. They’re in a thread. They can tap once and check out in that same browser. That’s the conversion LTK is describing, not a two-week retargeting window.

Why are Instagram LTK conversions lower?

Instagram conversions are lower because Instagram has no cookie window. LTK says so in public. Conversion through direct product links on Instagram will always be much lower than on surfaces that keep a 7-14 day cookie. Shoppers need to purchase immediately after tapping the LTK link within an Instagram browser, without exiting.

That isn’t a DM-tool bug. It isn’t “your keyword is weak.” It’s the platform.

Three paths I see kill a look that would have paid on desktop:

They tap, then bounce to Google the brand. The Instagram browser is gone. The cookie never lived there. Desktop purchase later does not pay you.

They tap, then open the brand’s shopping app. LTK’s cookies page notes a brand shopping app can open after the tap and drop browser cookies unless that brand has app-to-app tracking. You cannot fix that with a prettier DM.

They tap your untracked brand.com URL. If you pasted the share-sheet path instead of the LTK Creator URL, LTK never saw the click. Commission is zero even if they buy in that same browser.

Comment-to-DM still helps the path that can pay: tap inside Instagram, stay in that browser, complete checkout. One URL in the first DM is the whole tactic. Two URLs split the tap. Three URLs are a bio with extra steps.

If you need to know whether a Reel actually produced a paid order, that measurement job lives at How to Track Sales from Instagram DMs in 2026. LTK’s dashboard is still the commission ledger. The DM tool’s click log is not LTK payout.

What is the 5K application bar?

LTK’s creator how-it-works page says they are looking for creators with an engaged, growing audience of at least 5K on a public social profile, posting high quality content at least twice a week that tags favourite brands. That is LTK’s application bar, opened 7 November 2026. It is not a DM-tool follower minimum.

5K is the floor LTK printed. The brand page says creators on the network run from 5K to well over 5M. Being at 5K doesn’t mean you’ll earn what a 5M account earns. LTK still does not publish a median monthly paycheck at either end of that range.

Twice a week, tagging favourite brands, is also LTK’s posting bar. A comment-to-DM tool can’t post for you. If the grid is quiet, LOOK has nothing to fire on. The DM vendor invoice and the LTK application are separate. You can be approved at 5K and still earn nothing if nobody completes a purchase in the Instagram browser.

Public profile matters. Personal accounts can’t connect to the official Instagram API tools on this list. Business or Creator is required for the send. LTK approval is LTK’s job. API connect is the DM tool’s job. Don’t mix those gates.

I wouldn’t delay the application because a roundup said “you need 50K to make LTK worth it.” LTK didn’t print 50K. LTK printed 5K, engaged and growing, public, twice a week. Whether 5K is enough for your niche is a content question, not a number I’ll invent.

What would a $120 cart pay at 16%?

This is an example. It is not LTK’s median income. LTK does not publish a median monthly paycheck.

LTK’s brand page says the average brand commission rate on LTK is 16%. If a shopper completes a $120 qualifying cart at that 16% average, commission is $19.20 before any brand-side returns, cancellations, or the affiliate partner platform’s own rules.

Math, labeled as example only:

  • $120 cart × 16% = $19.20
  • $120 cart × 10% = $12.00 (low end of LTK’s 10-25% creator average)
  • $120 cart × 25% = $30.00 (high end of that average)
  • $120 cart × 30% = $36.00 (the “can reach up to 30%” ceiling LTK printed; retailers set rates)

Ten of those $120 carts at 16% is $192. That is still an example. It is not “LTK creators make $192 a week.”

I used $120 because it’s a dress-plus-shoes cart I can picture, not because LTK published an average order value. LTK didn’t publish AOV on the pages I opened. Don’t treat $120 as typical. Don’t treat $19.20 as a salary.

Compare that example commission to the DM invoice, because that invoice is real:

  • DM Automation Starter is $19/month for 2,000 DMs. One example $19.20 commission covers that sticker. Ten example commissions do not mean you will hit ten. They mean the tool bill is not the payout.
  • Legend Pro at $9.99/month billed yearly is cheaper than one example $19.20 commission. Unlimited DMs is not unlimited LTK commission.
  • ManyChat Pro at $29/month billed yearly is more than one example $19.20. You buy it for WhatsApp, not because it raises the 16%.

Returns wipe example math. Commission is paid through the brand’s affiliate partner platform when they make a sale. Pending windows, returns, and “the shopper bought on desktop after an Instagram tap” all sit between $19.20 on a napkin and money in the account.

LTK’s UK page claim, “Creators in the UK can earn up to six figures,” is LTK’s marketing sentence. Quote it as such. It is not typical. It is not a median. It is not the $19.20 example scaled up. Six figures is a ceiling story. 16% on a qualifying cart is the published average rate.

Does a comment-to-DM tool change LTK commission?

No. A comment-to-DM tool only sends the tracked URL. It does not pay you. Retailers set rates. LTK’s creator page says the average commission rate is between 10-25% and can reach up to 30%. LTK’s brand page says the average brand commission rate is 16%. Commission is paid through the brand’s affiliate partner platform. The DM vendor is not on that table.

What the tool can change:

  • Speed. LOOK gets a DM in seconds instead of you typing 200 replies.
  • One URL in the first DM, so the shopper has a single tap inside Instagram’s browser.
  • Spike cost. Flat DM buckets vs contact meters when a try-on hits.

What the tool can’t change:

  • The 10-25% average, the 16% brand average, or a 7% sofa you should have skipped.
  • Instagram’s missing cookie window.
  • Cross-device: tap on mobile, buy on desktop, no commission, per LTK.
  • LTK approval, tax forms, and payout timing.
  • A caption that skipped disclosure.

If you sell your own product on a different Reel, some of these tools can send a Stripe or PayPal payment link. Stripe or PayPal processes that payment. InstantDM is one of the tools that can send those payment links. That’s not LTK. LTK checkout is still the brand. Paste the LTK URL on an LTK look. Don’t replace it with your own cart and then wonder why LTK shows zero.

Disclose the affiliate relationship on the public post. A private DM does not replace a caption disclosure. Affiliate is not a brand deal.

Write it in the caption, not only in the first comment, and not only in the DM. A line that works: “This post contains LTK affiliate links. I may earn a commission if you shop through them.” Keep the disclosure on the public post even if comment-to-DM is the path. The person never opens the bio. They comment LOOK.

If a brand paid you to make the Reel, that is a paid partnership. Use Instagram’s paid-partnership label in addition to the affiliate sentence. Instagram’s public help for that label lives at Branded content on Instagram and About branded content (both HTTP 200 when we opened them 7 November 2026). Paid partnership on the public post, plus a sentence in the DM, is the floor when money changed hands for the content. A gifted item with an LTK URL is still affiliate. It is not automatically a paid partnership.

Do not hide the disclosure behind “link in bio” when the path is comment-to-DM. Full rules sit at Instagram Affiliate Disclosure in 2026.

DM Automation is the product on this site. Free forever: 1 Instagram account, 100 automated DMs a month, comment-to-DM, story replies, keyword triggers, welcome message, iOS and Android. Starter is $19/month for 2,000 DMs, click tracking, follow-ups, and email capture in the DM. Pro is $49/month for 3 accounts and 15,000 DMs (DM Automation pricing, 7 November 2026).

LTK payout is slow relative to a Reel. Commission is paid through the brand’s affiliate partner platform when they make a sale. Pending windows sit on the brand side. The send should not wait on that. Connect a Business or Creator account through Instagram login. Point the automation at one try-on. Set LOOK or SHOP, matching the word on screen. Paste one tracked LTK URL. Publish. Comment from a second account. Confirm the URL still looks like an LTK link.

Where it fits: first LTK-link automation today, and a free plan that isn’t a 7-day countdown, while you wait on LTK’s actual ledger. Where it doesn’t: 100 DMs/month on free won’t cover a viral dress week. One spike of 2,000 comments fills Starter. Upgrade to Pro, or pick LinkDM Pro at 25,000 DMs, when volume shows up.

DM Automation does not apply to LTK for you, does not show commission in the inbox, and does not process the shopper’s card. A comment-to-DM tool only sends the tracked URL. It does not pay you. Instagram has no cookie window. A $19 Starter invoice doesn’t restore a click that left the in-app browser.

The earnings angle is the invoice vs the published rate. Starter at $19 is roughly one example $19.20 commission at 16% on a $120 cart. That example isn’t a forecast. It’s why I don’t treat the DM bill as the income story.

2. InstantDM - $9.99 Legend Pro for unlimited LTK DMs

InstantDM is number two on this site. Legend Pro is $9.99/month billed yearly with unlimited DMs (up to 800 an hour), Instagram plus Facebook, and story, Live, and next-post triggers. Trendsetter is $24.99/month billed yearly for the flow editor, Meta Ads, API, and webhooks. Trendsetter Pro is $49.99/month billed yearly. Free forever is 500 DM automations a month with no card. Paid plans also offer a 7-day free trial. Multi Starter is $160/year for 3 accounts. Multi Pro is $990/year for 10 accounts (instantdm.com/pricing, 7 November 2026).

For LTK creators, the job this slot does well is the same job as DM Automation: keyword on a Reel, one LTK URL in the DM. The difference is the bill after a spike. Unlimited DMs on a flat $9.99 yearly-billed plan means 2,000 LOOK comments in a day does not fill a monthly bucket. You still respect Meta’s throughput. You still wait on LTK for money.

It can send a payment link when you sell your own product. Stripe or PayPal processes that payment. That’s a different Reel and a different URL. For an LTK look, paste the LTK URL. Don’t replace it with a second cart. LTK still tracks the click. The brand still processes the purchase. Unlimited DMs is not unlimited LTK commission. Commission is still the brand’s table, 10-25% on average and up to 30% per LTK’s creator page, 16% brand average per LTK’s brand page. If Instagram’s in-app browser drops the cookie, a bigger DM plan won’t restore it.

$9.99 is cheaper than the $19.20 example at 16% on a $120 cart. That comparison is invoice vs example math. It is not “Legend Pro pays you $19.20.” LTK does not publish a median monthly paycheck. Legend Pro does not either.

3. ManyChat - Pro $29/month if WhatsApp is already the shop

ManyChat is number three. It is the right pick when Instagram is not the only inbox. Pro is $29/month billed yearly ($39 billed monthly) on the table Featurebase quoted 29 October 2026. Free is 25 active contacts per month. See ManyChat pricing. manychat.com/pricing returned 403 from this host on 7 November 2026, so the dollar figures come from Featurebase’s 29 October 2026 write-up of ManyChat’s public table.

LTK creators buy ManyChat when WhatsApp is already a working shop channel, or when a flowchart has to ask “US or UK store?” then ship the matching LTK URL. That canvas is real. It is also why first-time setup takes longer than a guided comment-to-DM form.

The cost trap is contacts, not DMs. If a dress Reel produces 2,000 new people, those people can stay on the contact meter. A flat Instagram DM bucket bills the messages. ManyChat bills the people. $29 is more than the $19.20 example commission. You are not buying a higher LTK rate. You are buying WhatsApp plus Instagram in one builder.

Where it wins: WhatsApp is already the shop. Where it loses: LOOK → one LTK URL, and you wanted a flat DM bucket. ManyChat does not pay LTK commission. Instagram has no cookie window inside ManyChat either.

4. LinkDM - $19 Pro for haul volume while commission is pending

LinkDM Free is $0 for 1,000 DMs/month on 1 account. Story auto-reply is on Free. Comment auto-reply is Pro. Pro is $19/month for 25,000 DMs on 3 accounts. Platinum+ is $99/month for 300,000 DMs on 10 accounts (LinkDM pricing, 7 November 2026).

Published caps help during a haul week. 1,000 DMs is enough to learn if LOOK converts on stories. Free will not fire comment auto-reply. Pro at 25,000 DMs is the plan that survives a real spike without an emergency upgrade while you are on a Live try-on, which is useful because LTK commission is still pending on the brand’s affiliate partner platform.

LinkDM is built around sending links in DMs. That matches the LTK send job more tightly than a full CRM inbox. Where it fits: one look per post, high comment volume, invoice in DMs not contacts. Where it does not: WhatsApp, a shared inbox, or an AI that picks a shade. Don’t buy Platinum+ because a dress “might go viral.” Viral comments aren’t viral commission. Instagram has no cookie window. Most of those taps won’t pay if people exit the browser.

$19 Pro is almost exactly the $19.20 example at 16% on a $120 cart. Again, example math. Not a salary. One qualifying cart at the brand average covers the sticker. You still need the purchase to happen in the Instagram browser.

5. ReplyRush - $10 Lite if the list is still small

ReplyRush Free is 1,500 DMs/month. Lite is $10/month for 7,500 DMs. Boost is $25/month for 40,000 DMs. Max is $100/month for 400,000 DMs (ReplyRush pricing, 7 November 2026). Comment auto-reply is not on the free plan.

For a new LTK creator under or just over the 5K application bar, $10 Lite is the cheapest paid Instagram bucket that still covers a decent haul. 7,500 DMs is more than DM Automation Starter’s 2,000, at a lower sticker. Starter still wins if you want click tracking and email capture inside the DM on this site’s product.

$10 is less than the $19.20 example. That doesn’t mean Lite “pays for itself in one dress.” It means the tool bill is small relative to one qualifying cart at 16%. LTK still has to credit the sale. Instagram still has no cookie window.

Use ReplyRush when the only job is comment-to-DM and you want the lowest paid start. If your whole plan is “comment LOOK,” skip Free and start on Lite, or start on DM Automation free where comment-to-DM is included at 100 DMs. Neither plan is LTK income.

6. Chatfuel - Size and shade questions after the URL

Chatfuel Business is US$18/month billed yearly (US$216/year) with US$20 of AI credits per month. Every plan starts with a free trial, no card (Chatfuel pricing, 7 November 2026).

Chatfuel is the LTK pick when the first DM cannot be a single URL. Beauty and apparel are the obvious cases. The shopper comments DRESS, then asks if it fits a petite frame, then asks if the color is the one on the hanger. A static LTK listing still helps. An AI agent that answers from your caption notes helps more.

Do not use Chatfuel to invent brand prices. The live listing is the price. The bot should send the LTK URL and answer questions you actually know. If you don’t know whether LTK still tracks that SKU, open the Link bookmarklet instead of guessing a 20% rate. Where it fits: size and shade questions after DRESS. Where it doesn’t: you only needed one LTK URL.

US$18 yearly-billed is close to the $19.20 example. AI credits are extra if the flow used AI turns. A static LTK URL should not need those credits. Chatfuel is not LTK. Inventory, checkout, and commission stay on the brand through LTK. A longer thread is a longer chance they leave the Instagram browser. Keep the tracked URL in the first DM even if the bot keeps talking.

7. SendPulse - Email suite, not an LTK paycheck

SendPulse is an email-first suite with Instagram modules. I won’t invent a monthly sticker so this table looks complete. Pricing lives at sendpulse.com/pricing, checked 7 November 2026.

Where it fits: you already live in SendPulse for email, and Instagram comment-to-DM is a module on top. Where it doesn’t: you wanted the cheapest way to send one LTK URL while you wait on payout. Email capture inside a DM is a different job than LTK commission. If you collect emails, that list is yours. It isn’t 16% of a cart.

SendPulse does not raise LTK’s 10-25% average. It does not create an Instagram cookie. Rank stays below Chatfuel because the meter and the homepage are email, not LOOK → URL. If the Reel is a newsletter signup, that isn’t LTK commission.

8. Respond.io - $79 Starter, inbox for teams, wrong default for LOOK

Respond.io Starter is $79/month billed yearly (respond.io/pricing, 7 November 2026). There is a 7-day trial. It is inbox-first: shared threads, team routing, a CRM shape.

$79 is more than four times the $19.20 example commission at 16% on a $120 cart. You don’t buy Respond.io to make LTK pay more. You buy it when a team needs a shared inbox across channels. A solo LTK creator sending LOOK on a dress Reel doesn’t need that meter.

Where it fits: an agency desk that already runs Respond.io and happens to paste an LTK URL. Where it doesn’t: first LTK-link automation. Official API is still the floor. Password tools are still a no. $79 doesn’t fix Instagram’s missing cookie.

9. SetSmart - AI qualifier, wrong meter for SHOP

SetSmart Light is $25/month for 250 AI messages, with no free trial. Pro is $97/month for 1,000 AI messages, with a 7-day trial (SetSmart pricing, 7 November 2026).

Where it fits: a stylist who wants an AI thread that collects budget, occasion, and a booking URL for a paid consult. That consult is not LTK commission. If you send your own booking link, Stripe or PayPal can process that payment. That is still not LTK.

Where it doesn’t: LOOK on a dress Reel. You’d be paying AI messages to send one LTK URL. 250 AI messages on Light doesn’t survive a 2,000-comment spike. $25 is more than the $19.20 example. $97 Pro is several example carts. Neither plan is a median LTK salary, because LTK does not publish one.

SetSmart stays on this site’s tracking list. It is not LTK and it is not ranked above ManyChat. If the Reel is a $2,000 interior consult, send the calendar on a different keyword. Keep SHOP on the coffee table.

What does a LOOK-Reel spike cost against example commission?

A try-on clip at 2,000 LOOK comments, one DM each. Tool cost is real. LTK income is not guaranteed. Instagram has no cookie window, so most taps will not pay if people exit.

  • DM Automation Starter: 2,000 DMs/month at $19. 2,000 fills it. A second clip the same month does not fit. Pro is 15,000 DMs at $49. Free is 100 DMs. Free does not fit. $19 is one example $19.20 at 16% on a $120 cart.
  • Legend Pro in slot two: $9.99/month billed yearly, unlimited DMs up to 800 an hour. The spike doesn’t change the bill. The free plan is 500 DM automations/month. 2,000 doesn’t fit Free. Upgrade before you post the noisy try-on. $9.99 is less than one example $19.20. Unlimited DMs is not unlimited commission.
  • LinkDM Pro: 25,000 DMs at $19/month. 2,000 fits. Free’s 1,000 does not, and Free has no comment auto-reply.
  • ReplyRush Lite: 7,500 DMs at $10/month. 2,000 fits. Free’s 1,500 does not, and Free has no comment auto-reply.
  • ManyChat Pro: contact meter at $29/month billed yearly. 2,000 new commenters can chew the bucket if they were not already contacts. You bought WhatsApp, not a higher 16%.
  • Chatfuel Business: US$18/month yearly plus the US$20 AI credits if the flow used AI turns. A static LTK URL should not need those credits.
  • SendPulse: see sendpulse.com/pricing. No invented sticker.
  • Respond.io Starter: $79/month. Wrong default for LOOK.
  • SetSmart Light: 250 AI messages at $25. Wrong meter for LOOK.

Home, beauty, and pet Reels spike differently. A coffee-table Reel might pull 400 SHOP comments. A serum Reel might pull 800 LINK comments plus shade questions. A pet-bed Reel at 120 SHOP comments is a free-plan test. Size the plan for the noisest LOOK. None of these invoices are LTK’s median paycheck, because LTK does not publish one.

Common mistakes that kill LTK commission

Inventing a monthly salary. LTK does not publish a median monthly paycheck. 10-25% average, 16% brand average, up to 30%, retailers set rates. That is the published set. “Typical LTK creator makes $X/month” is not on LTK’s page.

Treating the UK six-figure line as typical. LTK’s creator page says creators in the UK can earn up to six figures. That is LTK’s marketing sentence. Quote it as such.

Pasting an untracked URL. If you copied brand.com from the share sheet, LTK never saw the click. Copy from the Creator app or the Link bookmarklet.

Ignoring Instagram’s missing cookie. Shoppers need to purchase immediately after tapping inside Instagram, without exiting that browser. If they click on mobile then purchase on desktop, you will not earn commission. Keep the first DM to one URL.

Two URLs in the first DM. Outfit plus Amazon plus a booking calendar. They tap the wrong one, or they leave. Link count lives at How Many Links Can You Put in an Instagram DM in 2026?.

Skipping disclosure. A private DM does not replace a caption disclosure. Affiliate is not a brand deal. Paid partnership on the public post plus a sentence in the DM when a brand paid for the Reel. Help: Branded content on Instagram.

Blaming the DM tool for a zero month. A comment-to-DM tool only sends the tracked URL. It does not pay you. Check the URL, the cookie path, returns, and whether the SKU still tracks.

Password apps that message people who liked the dress. Official API only. See Send a Private Reply to a Commenter. If a warning followed a password app, read “We suspect automated behavior.”

Buying an AI setter to send one LTK URL. Wrong meter. SetSmart Light at 250 AI messages is not a haul plan.

Mixing your own checkout with LTK on the same keyword. Your Stripe or PayPal payment link is your product. InstantDM can send those payment links, and Stripe or PayPal processes the payment. LTK checkout is the brand. Two keywords or two Reels. Measurement of your own checkout lives at How to Track Sales from Instagram DMs in 2026.

Waiting for 50K followers because a blog said so. LTK printed 5K, engaged and growing, public, twice a week. The brand page says 5K to well over 5M. 5K is not a paycheck. It is the application bar.

Who is each tool for while you wait on LTK?

One creator, Instagram only, testing. DM Automation free (100 DMs) or the 500-automation free plan in slot two.

One creator, noisy LOOK Reels. The $9.99 yearly-billed unlimited plan in slot two, or LinkDM Pro at $19/month, or DM Automation Starter at $19/month. Use Pro on this site if you need 15,000 DMs or 3 accounts.

Shoppers already on WhatsApp. ManyChat is number three.

Tiny paid budget, comment-to-DM required. ReplyRush Lite $10/month for 7,500 DMs.

Published cap on 3 accounts. LinkDM Pro $19/month for 25,000 DMs.

Size and shade FAQ, not the look. Chatfuel Business from US$18 yearly.

Email suite already in place. SendPulse, and open sendpulse.com/pricing rather than using a number I invented.

Team inbox. Respond.io from $79 Starter. Usually the wrong first LTK tool.

Paid styling consults. SetSmart from $25 Light. That is not the LTK URL job.

If two tools fit, pick the meter that matches last month’s noisest try-on. A coffee-table week and a viral dress Reel are not the same month. None of these vendors are LTK. LTK is the network. These tools send the URL. LTK does not publish a median monthly paycheck.

How do I choose in 10 minutes?

  1. Start with DM Automation (own tool on this site). Free 100 DMs/month, Starter $19, Pro $49 for 15,000 DMs.
  2. If you want unlimited DMs on a flat $9.99 yearly-billed plan, slot two is next.
  3. If shoppers also need WhatsApp in the same builder, ManyChat is number three.
  4. Lowest paid Instagram comment-to-DM: ReplyRush Lite $10.
  5. Published cap on 3 accounts: LinkDM Pro $19. Remember comment auto-reply is Pro, not Free.
  6. FAQ bot: Chatfuel Business from US$18 yearly.
  7. Email suite: SendPulse, pricing on their page.
  8. Team inbox: Respond.io from $79.
  9. Consult AI thread: SetSmart from $25, usually the wrong first LTK tool.

Then go generate the tracked URL in LTK, disclose in the caption, and send one URL. Setup steps sit on the LTK send page.
