Privacy policy

Template notice. This is a starting point, not legal advice. Have it reviewed against your actual analytics, hosting and email setup and against the law where your visitors are, before the site goes live.

What we collect

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful: pages visited, referrer, approximate location, device and browser. It sets first-party cookies (names beginning _ga) to recognise a returning browser, and Google processes the data on our behalf. IP addresses are truncated by Google before storage. We do not use it for advertising or remarketing.

Session recording. We also use Microsoft Clarity, which records how people move through the site — mouse movement, clicks, scrolling and page navigation — and replays those sessions so we can see where a page confuses people. It is more detailed than page analytics, so it is worth being explicit about what it does and does not capture.

Clarity masks text input by default: what you type into the email field is not recorded. It does not capture passwords or payment details, and this site asks for neither. Microsoft processes the recordings on our behalf and may combine the data with its own as described in theMicrosoft Privacy Statement.

Your email address, when you give it to us. If you sign up on this site we store the address you entered, which block of the site you submitted from, and the time, so we can send your setup link and product updates. Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe.

Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep the message and your address so we can reply.

Server logs. Standard web server logs, including IP address and user agent, retained for a short period for security and debugging.

What we do not collect

We do not collect payment information on this website, we do not ask for your Instagram password at any point, and we do not sell data to anyone.

Cookies

The only cookies this site sets are the Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity ones described above. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share analytics data for advertising purposes.

You can opt out of Google Analytics withGoogle’s browser add-on, and out of Clarity by enabling Do Not Track or blockingclarity.ms in your browser or an extension. Nothing on this site depends on either working.

Following an outbound link to another company’s site puts you under their cookie and privacy policies, which we do not control.

Third parties

Our hosting provider, our email delivery provider, Google (analytics) and Microsoft (session recording) process data on our behalf. Outbound links take you to third-party sites — includingInstantDM and the other platforms we compare ourselves to — each with their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, use the contact page. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.

Children

This site is aimed at people running businesses and creator accounts. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

When this policy changes we update the date at the top. Material changes will be noted on the page.
