DM Automation editorial4 min read

Good automation fails on bad copy more often than on bad setup. Below are templates for the automations most accounts run, written to be short enough that people read them and specific enough that they act.

Replace anything in [brackets]. Cut anything that does not sound like you.

Things worth doing to all of these

Cut a line. Whatever you write, it is probably one line too long. DMs are read in a notification preview.

Front-load the link. If you promised something, it goes in the first message.

Rotate variants. Three versions of your most-used message, rotating, reads far better under a popular Reel than the same sentence ninety times.

Give one exit. Any sequence that follows up needs a stop word, and it has to work.

Read it out loud. If it does not sound like something you would say, your audience will hear that too.

Where to put them

Every template above runs on our free plan, and because the mobile apps carry the whole builder you can change the copy on a phone right after you publish the post it belongs to. That matters more than it sounds, because the first ten minutes of a Reel is exactly when you learn the keyword was wrong.

For the setup itself, start with comment-to-DM or story replies, or read the full guide first.

Your next Reel can sell while you sleep

Connect the account, pick a keyword, write one message. That is the entire job, and the free plan covers it.
